Cover design
[Apple Tooth] is my first attempt at silkscreen, and I wanted to use the continuous images of an accordion book to create an apple that is slowly being peeled.
My printing sequence was blue, red, and black. The cover design used two different fabrics, red and green. In the end, I produced about 10 finished products.

[One More Creature Dizzy with Love] is a silkscreen-printed handmade book inspired by the poem “I've seen too many glazed-eyed bums sitting under a bridge drinking cheap wine” from Charles Bukowski's book Love is a Dog from Hell. The entire work explores the mutual exploitation within romantic relationships, comparing the impulse of love to an animal's eating instinct, filled with blood, violence, and romance.
Produced from November to December 2024
I used a weighty watercolor paper as the base. Starting from the bottom layer, I built a gradient of yellow, orange, and pink. Then I layered a semi-transparent blue on top, followed by a deep blue for the third layer, and finally a red for the last layer. The entire handmade book is made with Japanese binding. Each sheet was individually cut, then punched and stitched together with the cardboard front and back covers. Compared to my first silkscreen handmade book, this piece feels more mature and offers better reading experience.
This work also has approximately ten finished copies, featuring red and green covers respectively, with the title printed in white and red on the front cover.

After learning the fundamentals of paper-based silkscreen printing, I naturally became interested in printing on fabric. I then took a course focused on textile silkscreen printing, where the open-ended structure allowed me to design and print two tote bags featuring the same imagery in different color palettes.
The tote bag design incorporates soft and playful elements such as lace, polka dots, and diamonds. Inspired by the Year of the Horse, the project reflects a desire to slow down and move through life at a gentler pace.
