Junior Book Thesis

My Junior Thesis project is based on Charles Bukowski’s Love is a Dog from Hell, a collection of poems exploring love, sexuality, desire, and pain. The language is violent and absurd, but its depth is worth contemplating. I chose the poem "Alone with Everybody," where we discuss the soul, human connection, the essence of being, and the emptiness of the body. These themes are fascinating and romantic, full of imagination, and I’ve expressed them in my own way. Watercolor / ink, 9 x 12in on watercolor paper
